5 Popular Types of Bathtubs to Make Your Bathroom Pop

Sometimes we all need some help with some creative inspiration. If you’re currently remodeling your bathroom or you’re considering starting a bathroom remodel project, your bathtub is going to be a centerpiece of the design, as it’s often one of the first things that people see when they enter the space.

The team here at Ponce Design Build has decades of experience in keeping current with design trends, and we’ve noticed several types of bathtubs that homeowners are most interested in as of late.

We’ve put together a list of 5 bathtub design trends that are popular in 2020, and would look great in your space.

Freestanding Tub

Freestanding Tubs
Price range: $2,000 to $5,000+

With its commanding style, the freestanding tub is a fantastic option for your bathroom remodeling project, as it’s an attention-grabbing centerpiece to include in the space. You can do a lot with them in terms of positioning and design, and they add to your home’s resale value. However, it’s more geared towards style than functionality. If you’re big on storage for your shampoo and conditioner, or if you have children or handicap people in the home that will need to regularly use it, this may not be the best option in this case. This would be best suited for a master bathroom.

Claw-foot Tub

Price range: $600 to $5,000+

If you’re looking for a less expensive and more functional, but still a stylish option, the claw-foot tub is a fantastic choice. Not only do they boast a striking appearance, but they’re much better when it comes to space to move around. They do lack in storage as well however, so keep that in mind when you’re reviewing your options.

Drop-in Tub

Drop-in Tubs
Price range: $700 to $5,000

Last month we made a blog talking about how to make your bathroom feel like a spa, and to be honest we should have put this option on the list. Drop-in tubs provide a relaxing feel to the space, and they’re more cost effective than you’d think. They’re versatile and come in several different sizes and styles, and you’ll have plenty of room for soap bottles, a music player, space for a bottle of wine, you name it. They can only be fit into a corner space, but they have so many positives that it’s hard to not strongly consider a drop-in tub for your bathroom remodel.

Hot Tub

Price range: $5,000 to $8,000+

If you’ve got a big budget, you might as well go all out. The hot tub bathtub is the ultimate bathtub to have in your bathroom. The jets and warm water are great hydrotherapy for those who have achy joints, and they’re just luxurious in general. You’ll have more than enough storage space, and all the room in the world to move about. Aside from the expensive price range, there really aren’t any negatives about this type of tub.

Walk-in Tub

Price range: $2,000 to $5,000+

If you have an elderly or a handicap person in the home and you need to accommodate them with a convenient way to enter the bathtub, the walk-in tub is your best bet in terms of convenience and safety. They’re on the more expensive side, but it’s the best way to prevent injury and make bath time a lot easier.
