Top 5 Kitchen Remodeling Trends in 2020

Kitchen renovation ideas can be hard to come by without the proper research and staying up-to-date on the latest trends. For many clients we have worked for, they just don’t know where to start.

Kitchens have changed quite a bit over the past few years, and it’s important to keep up in order to maintain or increase the value of your home, and to also provide yourself with a comfortable and appealing space. The team here at Ponce Design Build is updated on the latest kitchen remodeling trends, so we’ve put together a list that’ll be a big help to you for when you’re deciding on where to go with your upcoming renovation.

1) Smart Kitchens

As our world becomes more and more technologically advanced, so do our kitchens. Kitchens that are equipped with gadgets and convenience features are quickly becoming some of the most in-demand additions that we’ve seen among our clientele. Features such as motion sense-equipped faucets, refrigerators that alert you when groceries are running low, and a gadget that helps you monitor your eggs and informs you when they’re going bad are just some of the many features that homeowners are adding.

2) Dark Cabinet Colors

We’ve noticed that white and light-colored cabinets are slowly moving on the way out a little bit, so expect that to continue in 2020. Cabinets with a variety of darker shades of color, and wood-stained cabinets are becoming the hot new kitchen commodity. Colors such as black, navy, emerald green and plum are among the most popular.

3) Quartz Countertops

Rest assured, quartz is not going anywhere in 2020, as it remains one of the most popular kitchen features. It lasts virtually forever, it’s affordable, and incredibly easy to clean and maintain. Softer and more neutral colors of quartz have become the latest 2020 trend, so we highly recommend going that route if you’re considering quartz countertops or sinks.

4) Kitchen Larders

Often used simply as storage for preserved foods, kitchen larders have transformed into a standalone cupboard or pantry. They can house your dried goods  and they’re small enough to keep things organized and they don’t take up too much room. They’ll provide a unique approach to the look and feel of your kitchen.

5) Reclaimed Wood Kitchen Cabinetry

People are taking the eco-friendly approach more and more seriously in 2020, and one of the most popular moves has been switching to reclaimed wood. The reduce and reuse revival is alive and well, and it would be an attractive and useful kitchen renovation.
