5 of the Best Coronavirus Prevention Tips

The coronavirus (COVID-19) has been the hottest topic of discussion in America, and according to several medical professionals this is just the tipping point.

It’s an incredibly infectious illness that still does not have a cure, and can live on hard surfaces for up to 72 hours according to NPR. At the time of this blog post, nearly 4,500 Americans have contracted the virus, and 87 have died. Ponce Design Build feels it’s our duty as human beings to pass along information to do our best to ensure your safety and health.

1)  Wash your hands frequently. It’s recommended that during this time you wash your hands more often than you normally do, and be sure to wash for at least 20 seconds with an adequate amount of soap.

2) Keep a safe distance. Even a small cough or a single breath can be all it takes to catch the coronavirus. Doctors suggest it’s far more contagious than the flu, so it’s important to keep 3 to 6 feet of distance between you and others when you’re out in public, and do not hang around large crowds.

3) Cover your coughs and sneezes. Even if you have a common cold, please be sure to cover your mouth, and throw all of your tissues in the trash.

4) Wear a face mask if you are sick. The Center of Disease and Prevention recommends that you wear a face mask during this time if you are sick, as this is the best way to prevent illness spreading while you’re out in public.

5) Clean and disinfect rigorously. It’s now more important than ever to clean around high-traffic areas and surfaces that are regularly touched. This includes, door knobs, light fixtures and light switches, cabinet handles, remotes, tables and so on.
